2013/11/25Energy@home 2013 Workshop – Milano, November 26th 2013

Last Tuesday, November 26th Energy@home successfully run its second Annual Workshop. It has been the opportunity to present the progresses of the Association during 2013 and to show the latest version of the demonstrator which includes now integration with new smart appliances, with the i-EM generation forecast service, with the Power-one inverter, and with the Philips HUE and MAC lightings.

Compared to the first edition, done in December 2012, we are really pleased to record an increasing numbers of attendees, about 90, coming from different countries of EU.  That’s a sign of the good tangible work done by the association both into the Zigbee Alliance (where Energy@home specifications have been recently integrated into the Zigbee Home Automation 1.2 Standard) and with the collaboration with the Germany driven EEBus Initiative.
The day has been rich of presentations and sessions.
While we’ve presented the progresses done by the different Working Groups within the
Energy@home, which counts now 19 associated companies, we’ve been delighted to see several sessions reporting feed-back from customers about the trials on going withEnergy@home or similar initiatives focused to increase
final customer awareness on Energy Consumption (both the Italian trial of Enel, Telecom Italia and Indesit Company and the Dutch Trial of Enexis based on the Indesit
Energy@home compliant Washing Machine).
But the workshop also raised the next challenges we do have in front which are not only technical but mainly connected with the harmonization with the regulations in the different countries in EU: AAEG (Italian Regulator Authority for Energy and Gas), CRE (French Regulatory Commission of Energy) and CECED (Appliance European Regulatory Association) provided contribution for feeding the debate on this issue.
