2015/10/25Energy@home releases version 2.1 of the technical specifications and of the data Model

The Energy@home Association is pleased to announce the release of a new version for both the technical specifications and Data Model documents, aligning them to the 2.1 release.

These latest specifications introduce new procedures to enable the "Retrieve Load Profile Data" and "Overload Management" use cases.

The first procedure allows to retrieve data stored in various devices like Smart Plug, Smart Info or White Goods and let the CEMS (Community Energy Management System), i.e. the aggregator of the HAN data (typically a Smart Home Gateway), to fill some gaps that could be present in the platform database (e.g. due to some errors or temporary black-out previously occurred). The same procedure could also be used for billing purposes.

The Overload Management procedure instead enables the DSO meter to generate an 'overload warning' in order to inform a residential user about a limit exceed in the energy absorption. That allows to transmit this information to the Smart Home Gateway and, consequently, to all the E@h devices in the home in order to coordinate their effort towards a reduction of the power absorption.

The data model document, which was inspired by and it is an extension of the IEEE P2030.5 specification, has been updated as well in order to reflect these changes, and it has been kept the same representation model based upon the IEC Common Information Model (CIM) standard.
